 On March 5th, The Cornell Men’s Fencing Team traveled to Johns Hopkins for the MACFA Championships. The team competed against 14 other teams; a mix of varsity and club. The team placed 5th overall, winning 84 out of 124 bouts.

 On February 19th, the Cornell Men’s Fencing Team traveled to Drew for their 3rd competition of the year. The team competed against Lafayette (Div I) and Drew (Div III), Rutgers, The College of New Jersey, and Marist College. Overall, the team closed out the day 3-2, beating Lafayette (14-13), TNCJ (18-9), and Marist 25-2, but losing hard-fought matches against Drew (12-15), and Rutgers (12-15).

On Febuary 12th, Cornell Men’s Club Fencing Team competed in their second MACFA tournament of the season at Drew University. Despite losing some starters to early graduation and study abroad, the men held their own securing a confident win against William & Mary (18-9), as well as dignified losses against Navy (12-15), Johns Hopkins (8-19), University of Maryland (12-15), and Haverford (4-23).

 Kicking off 2017 with its first tournament of the year, the Cornell Men’s Fencing Team competed alongside the Women’s Varsity Fencing Team at the Cornell Invitational on January 28th. The men took on Lafayette (Division I) and Carnegie Mellon, going 16-11 against both schools. The win against Lafayette marks the Men’s third win against a varsity program this season. Foil led the charge, posting an overall record of 16-2 for the day, with Junior Michael Mauer and Sophomore Owen Sconzo both going undefeated.
