The Cornell Big Red Fencing Team had a very solid showing at MACFA Champs on March 2nd. They finished in 4th place overall, missing third place by a very small margin. Cornell finished as the top club team in MACFA and plan on riding their momentum to Club Champs in the beginning of April.

Cornell qualified 5 fencers for the individual portion of the tournament, the highest total seen in recent years. The qualifiers were freshmen Julian May-Man and Calvin Au in Foil, junior Matthew Laks and senior Matthew Joe in Sabre, and senior Harrison Fox in Epee. Matthew Laks placed 5th overall and Matthew Joe finished 6th. Au finished in 7th place and May-Man finished 11th. Harrison Fox finished 14th in Epee.

Overall the team did extraordinarily well and is looking forward to a potential first place victory at Club Champs in Knoxville, Tennessee on April 5th and 6th.
