The Cornell Men’s Fencing Team capped off the end of their season with an incredible 2nd place victory at USACFC’s in Knoxville, Tennessee. The foil squad, comprised of three freshmen fencers—Calvin Au, Julian May-Mann, and Jake Silverman, captured the gold squad medal at the event, the first time the foil squad has won since 2009. The Sabre squad finished 2nd after falling to the United States Military Academy in the final bout. Matthew Laks ‘15 finished 2nd in the individual sabre event and Calvin Au ‘14 finished 5th in the individual foil event.

 The Cornell Big Red Fencing Team had a very solid showing at MACFA Champs on March 2nd. They finished in 4th place overall, missing third place by a very small margin. Cornell finished as the top club team in MACFA and plan on riding their momentum to Club Champs in the beginning of April.

On Saturday March 2nd the Cornell Men?s Fencing Team travelled to College Park, Maryland to compete in the MACFA Championships on Sunday March 3rd. The MACFA Championships pins MACFA teams head to head to put the teams, individual squads, and individual fencers to the test. At the end of the day, the team with the most victories and touches scored across all three weapons would be crowned the MACFA Champion.
